[Abstract] The “environmental quality in housing” has been a relevant topic in national and international research, notably guided by global and local sustainable development agendas, aiming at its complete achievement. Considering the relevance of the theme, the need to investigate how the inhabitants of our cities live and what are the impacts resulting from these occupations is also justified. In other words, it is important to assess the environmental quality of housing, since housing influences the daily lives of residents on multiple aspects, profoundly marking their quality of life, and their expectations and possibilities for future development. On the other hand, evaluation processes have increasingly appropriated new information, communication and interface technologies to achieve their goals, becoming more efficient, educational and collaborative. Therefore, this research project aims to: (i) improve the APODIGITAL Web SYSTEM – Post-Occupation Evaluation System in digital media and (ii) develop an artifact that allows assessing the environmental quality of apartment buildings in use and whose feasibility, tested in a case study in the city of Uberlândia (MG), can support its future replication in the national territory. It is intended to develop the assessment instrument (artifact) oriented to item 11 (sustainable cities and communities) of the Sustainable Development Goals – SDG/2030 Agenda. As a methodological approach we will use the Hypothetical-Deductive method supported by Design Science Research, structured in: (i) problem identification and awareness; (ii) systematic literature review; (iii) identification of artifacts and configuration of problem classes; (iv) proposition of artifacts to solve problems; (v) artifact design; (vi) artifact development; (vii) artifact evaluation; (viii) explanation of learning and conclusion; (ix) generalization to a class of problems and reporting the results; and (x) application of heuristics. The methodology will be supported by Design Science Research and will be operationalized by interdisciplinary work teams in the areas of Architecture and Urbanism, Design and Computer Science. The work will provide users with an assessment tool on “living in an apartment”, via the internet and smartphones, exploring interactive features and friendly, collaborative and intuitive digital interfaces. Through the information collected by the system, it aims to provide statistical and scientific data that can increase the environmental quality of projects in the area, as well as guide the establishment of public policies, norms and legislation. On the other hand, it will act as a means of information and knowledge for the users of the system, as it will provide access to data and questions about aspects related to “inhabiting” and its impacts on the environment in which they reside. Finally, this work intends to continue the research developed within the scope of the [MORA] housing research group, which aim to improve post-occupancy evaluation methodologies and digital interfaces, expanding the discussion on new methodological possibilities in the area, through interdisciplinarity. and the adoption of different methods of data collection and visualization.
