[Resume]
Resilience in the built environment is understood as the capacity of this environment to respond, absorb and adapt to different impacts and demands over time. It is a fundamental aspect to raise the quality of housing developments, since it is directly linked to the concepts of sustainability, vulnerability and adaptive capacity. In the field of architecture and urbanism, resilience is often associated with natural disasters and / or the absence of natural resources, characterizing extreme situations. However, this research focuses on the study of the resilience of the built environment in social housing. Contexts that often have to overcome socioeconomic, environmental and physical difficulties imposed over time. They are potential threats that appear both as interruptions (in short time horizons) and as diffuse and slow threats (for longer periods). These crises affect the resilience of the built environment because they are linked to everyday life. In this sense, the research has as main objective to evaluate the factors that constitute the resilience in the built environment in social housing with a focus on the housing unit, identifying the main design attributes that give it resilience. As a pilot, the research will focus on the evaluation and comparative analysis of three social housing developments located in the city of Uberlândia. For this, technologically advanced methodological assessment procedures (performance and post-occupation) will be developed, using digital tools specially developed for data collection and tabulation and visualization of results in comparative bases through parametric modeling. The methodology adopted in this study will be: (i) bibliographic research – literature review and conceptualization; (ii) referential research – analysis of the results of previous research, analysis of the elements that make up the systems for assessing resilience in the area of architecture and urbanism; (iii) conceptual-abstract research – definition of the system’s resilience assessment matrix and the set of resilience assessment methods; (iv) empirical research – observational study – comparative analysis of three different solutions in Uberlândia, Brazil. With the results obtained, it is intended to provide project information to agents involved in the production of social housing in Brazil, notably designers and users, in order to foster effective strategies to promote more resilient and sustainable housing. It is also intended to contribute to the global recommendations of the New Urban Agenda – Habitat III – and Sustainable Development Goals – AGENDA 2030 -, as well as to contribute to the local recommendations of the Ministry of Cities – Department of Housing – and the Municipal Housing Secretariat from Uberlândia. It aims to provide recommendations and design inputs for more resilient and sustainable enterprises, as well as more efficient tools for assessing performance and post-occupation of the resilience of the built environment in social housing.
